On June 14, 2024, at 11 a.m. we had the pleasure to host Assoc. Prof. Jörg Schachner from the University of Graz for a lecture entitled „Catalytic reduction of nitrate by a Rhenium(V) complex: challenges and solutions”
Within the lecture, the bio-inspired chemistry of oxorhenium(V) complexes toward the catalytic reduction of oxyanions was discussed. Similarities to the enzymatic reactions in the reduction of perchlorate ClO4-, nitrate NO3– as well as chemical challenges in these unusual reductions, were presented.
